Upgrade HC250 to 2.7.2

Wow! It took some time, but I finally got 2.7.2 to work!

I have a HC-250 controller and the trick for me seemed to be completely patching the default 2.5.3 version which included copying the ( ca.pem and ca_cert.pem ) files to the /user/AppData/Roaming/Control4/Composer folder. Detailed instructions and the original patch files are posted above by Craig on August 9th, 2015.

**Note**

Once patched, make sure the SSL is checked inside of Composer and that your timezone is set correctly.

After that:

– Install Composer 2.7.2 but do not open the application.

– Copy the MeeKaaH patch into C:Program Files (x86)Control4ComposerPro272 right click the file and ‘Run as Administrator’.

– Launch Composer 2.7.2 and connect to your local controller.

– Make sure the SSL is still checked and the timezone is correct.

– Goto Tools–>Update Manager

– Select your controller and click ‘Update’. An Update System dialog appears

– Click ‘Advanced’ and choose the 2.7.2 update package and click ‘Begin Update’.

– Wait for the update to completely finish. Then close Composer 2.7.2

– Copy the director patch files (Dave_P created a nice zip above) and copy them into C:Program Files (x86)Control4ComposerPro272

– Right click on ‘patch director.exe’ and ‘Run as Administrator’. A quick dialog will show and patch your system. Then exit this dialog.

– Launch Composer 2.7.2 and you should all good to go!

If you have to restore your controller to default settings before beginning this adventure, make sure you save a backup of your latest running project. On the HC-250, you restore the controller to default settings you unplug the controller, stick a paper clip into the restore hole on the backside of the controller, hold it in and plug the controller back in. The WiFi light will blink orange slowly and then quickly. Once blinking quickly you can release the button and drink a beer while the controller automagically goes back to its default state.

I had issues prior to all of this, but I have a feeling it was because of the two .pem files missing in that director. I hope this helps someone out there having the same difficulty.

Sorry for the novel!
